On 13 April 2021 Mr. Amir Masood Taheri [“Claimant”] submitted a request for arbitration in accordance with Art. 36 of the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States [the “ICSID Convention”] and Art. 9 of the Agreement between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Sweden on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments, dated 10 November 1999, in force as of 6 May 2000 [the “UAE-Sweden BIT”].
